Take a moment to explore the benefits of Golden Rule Direct Primary Care so you can decide if we're the right choice for you.

DPC is a new way to get high quality, comprehensive healthcare from a doctor who cares, all for a low, flat monthly fee.

DPC doctors ditch the broken healthcare system, leave their stressful hospital or clinic jobs, and start providing care at reasonable prices. It’s that simple. No insurance, no corporate health system, no middlemen. Just doctors and patients.

Practically speaking, DPC is a membership model for healthcare. Every patient pays a flat monthly fee to become a member of the DPC practice. What are the benefits of membership? Put simply: access to a doctor that cares about you.

With your membership you will have enhanced access to your Doctor including same or next day visits and extended appointment times.  In addition, some other included benefits are annual well-woman exam, chronic disease management, wound care, minor lesion and growth removals, laceration repair, joint injections, abscess drainage, family planning counseling, sports physicals, preventative care procedures and much, much more. You will also receive highly discounted cash pay pricing on medications, labs and imaging. As a primary care practice, we are able to provide the majority of the health care you will ever require.

You may have heard of a similar model called "concierge medicine". While there are similarities with DPC, the two are different in some fundamental ways. For starters, concierge practices often bill your insurance in addition to a monthly fee (though some don't—which makes them DPC practices!). This means they're still a part of the insurance industry's ridiculously complex reimbursement system, so they have to hire administrators to handle all the paperwork. This gets reflected in your monthly fee; the average concierge practice bills $200-300 per month. By comparison, DPC memberships cost approximately as much as your cell phone bill. Concierge was a step in the right direction, but it didn't go far enough. To bring sanity back to primary care, you need to cut insurance out of the picture entirely.

No, we don't bill or use health insurance at Golden Rule DPC. We focus on delivering excellent health care services, focusing on you as an individual. We have 1 hour appointments so that we can really get to know who you are and understand your health goals, and help you meet those health goals.

Absolutely! To be sure, your DPC doctor will always be there for you if you're get sick or hurt. But they also work proactively to keep you healthy, happy, free of preventable diseases, and living a good lifestyle.

It's hard to break out of the mindset of the insurance-based healthcare system. In "the system", everything is centered around treating illness. It's very hard for a doctor to get paid by an insurance company for detecting early warning signs of diabetes or encouraging a lifestyle change to decrease risk of heart disease. Doctors just aren't rewarded for encouraging all-around good health.

By being in constant contact with your DPC doctor when you're healthy, you'll be able to stay that way. By the time you're being treated for a chronic disease, it's usually too late. But if you spend your healthy years under the watchful eye of a doctor that cares, you'll be able to stay out of the hospital for years to come.

You won't have to pay for each individual office visit whether it's a routine follow-up, routine physical, or sick visit. Also, you'll be able to avoid many visits altogether by sending your questions directly to us via email and text – something you won't get from a traditional practice. We've negotiated amazing cash pay deals for prescription medications, blood tests, X-rays, and MRI/CT scans on your behalf.

More importantly, because of the comprehensive care you receive from a DPC practice, most patients find that they can cut way back on their insurance premiums. Most DPC patients find a high-deductible, low-premium insurance plan so they're covered in the case of a major health issue, while leaving the rest of your healthcare to us.

We use a monthly membership model for unlimited primary healthcare. You can find up-to-date information on the pricing tab of our website @ www.goldenruledpc.com.

Payment is via credit card or bank withdrawal set up with auto-pay through our Electronic Medical Record system Atlas.MD.

In the age of technology, many conditions can be diagnosed and treated via a simple conversation by phone, email, or video chat. Without the access you would have to your DPC doctor, you will likely have to pay for an urgent care visit when you're away from home. If appropriate, your doctor will locate the nearest pharmacy and order medication most suited for your circumstance. If you need to go to the hospital or seek other medical attention while away from home, we can advise you on that as well.

Of course. Everyone benefits from a service tailored directly to them. That’s why we offer truly custom healthcare. We’re here for you if you're sick or hurt, but we also help you proactively maintain good overall health. Every visit with us will be thorough, relaxed, and as long as you need to address your health concerns. The longer you're our patient, the more we learn about your health and lifestyle, and the better we can help you maintain that health.

First, we use a wide variety of tools to help you with any diagnosis. As family medicine specialists, we are trained in broad and diverse methods of caring for any diagnosis. The biggest tool that we have is time - time to read and understand about your diagnosis and do our best work for you.

We also have a tool called RubiconMD, where we can take your symptoms and story, and any diagnostic work (labs, imaging) that we perform in our office, and send it to any specialist that we need to employ to help us answer your clinical question at no cost to you. We can send your case to psychiatry, dermatology, cardiology, orthopedics, etc... there's over 200 board-certified specialists on the platform that can help us with your diagnosis or treatment.

Next, if you have PPO insurance, we can refer you to any doctor in your PPO network. If you are uninsured, we have a list of specialist doctors like cardiologists, ophthalmologists, or dermatologists that offer cash pricing for their medical services.

Finally, if you have an HMO insurance plan, we could attempt to make a referral on your behalf to a specialist in your HMO network. About half of the time, our referrals via the HMO get rejected because the HMO administrators are restrictive. In that cases, you'd have to see the primary care physician on the back of your insurance card to get a referral to the specialist of your choice. We can provide a letter for you to take to your PCP of why we think that a referral is necessary.

No, we see our patients on time so there is typically little to no wait. We also guarantee same-day or next-day appointments during the week. So, when you're a member, you can have the peace of mind that you'll be seen when you need it.

For established patients, we are able to offer same day or next day appointments, with availability for urgent needs after business hours as well, but in order to provide our scheduled patients with the focused attention they deserve, we kindly request appointments be made in advance. This allows us to maintain our high quality care and minimize wait times. If you are a member of our practice and need an urgent appointment, simply contact our office and we will handle the rest.

Our goal is to provide hassle free and convenient health care. If something comes up, please let us know and we are happy to reschedule appointments. There are no penalties for no shows or cancellations.

You can easily sign up for our membership online, on our home page click the "Join Today" button in the top right corner and complete the new patient registration questionnaire.

The monthly membership covers excellent primary care by providing open access to our services. Feel free to visit us in our office, call us when you need us, text us, or email us. You can schedule your annual wellness exam, receive basic office procedures, and optimize your health while under our care. Our members will also have access to at-cost laboratory testing as well as wholesale medications.

For existing members, the easiest way to make an appointment is through the app, Atlas.MD Patients, or on the web through the Atlas.MD Patient Hub. You may also call the office or email us directly and we will get you scheduled.

Download the app through Google Play or the Apple Store.

Yes, we carry many of the most frequently prescribed medications at our office.

We do not carry controlled substances, like opiate pain medications or stimulants. We do treat patients with acute pain with opiate medications in some cases. We then write a paper prescription for our patient, make a copy for our records, and send our patient to the local pharmacy to fill the controlled substance.

We do not treat chronic pain patients that require chronic opiate therapy. For chronic pain, please see a chronic pain specialist.

We do prescribe stimulant medication in some cases, and similarly, we do not carry stimulant medications (Adderall, Vyvanse, etc...) at our office as these are controlled substances. We write a paper prescription for our patients and they pick up the medication at a local pharmacy.

Yes, we draw blood in the office and it's only a few dollars per test.

If you have to go to the emergency department, we would call the emergency department and speak with the emergency physician and discuss your symptoms as well as help to coordinate care by providing any necessary records. Should you be admitted, we would do the same thing - call the hospitalist and discuss your treatment in the hospital to ensure a smooth transition of care when you leave the hospital.

For context, the age of having a family medicine doctor who sees patients in an out-patient clinic and in the in-patient or hospital setting is drawing to a close. Now, doctors either specialize in keeping patients out of the hospital, or they specialize in caring for patients once they are admitted to the hospital. Our practice focuses on wellness, screening tests, and excellent medical care to help our patients stay healthy and out of the hospital.

When we need to refer you to a specialist and you have an HMO plan, we will do our best to work with your insurance-based PCP to get the referral covered. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee this well always work.

Werecommend that you pair your DPC membership with "wrap-around coverage" which would cover you in the case of a heart attack, stroke, or cancer care.

What we offer at Golden Rule DPC is healthcare, with an emphasis on the care. We can take care of 80-90% of your medical needs. If you need assistance finding wrap-around coverage for the remainder, we will direct you to resources that can help you get the coverage that fits your needs.

Yes, we request a 3 month minimum commitment for new patients.

Almost...we see all patients 6 years of age and older. We believe children under 6 are best served by a Pediatrician.

We understand that your needs may change, and we want to help you through whatever transitions you're making. If you need to cancel, we require 30 day notice. If you sign up for a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual term and decide to cancel, your remaining balance will be refunded.

The same way car insurance isn't meant to be used for regular maintenance, neither should your expensive health insurance.

Golden Rule DPC is your employee's first stop for any primary healthcare need. Our doctor can handle up to 90% of member's needs in-office, like colds, flus, physicals, blood draws, labs, urgent care services, chronic disease management and much more. This can lead to fewer urgent and emergent claims to the employee's health plan, which can result in lower premiums for the employer, especially for self-funded groups.
